when he was younger, people say ‘an apple a day keeps the doctor away’ but the chemicals inside them make him go into fight or flight. Years later, he is stuck in the hospital. He just wants to be ok, but he doubts it will happen. Everyone always tries to give him advice, but they don’t know what it’s like to be stuck with his disease. He’s always fatigued. “you’re doing well.” Everyone says even though he feels like hell but he doesn’t speak up, not wanting to cause a scene. The doctors call it an ‘invisible disability’ though he feels it’s rather visible. He’s super pale and has bandages all over him, mainly his left eye, legs, and arms. He says he’s as pale as bathroom walls. According to the doctors, there’s something inside his lungs. No one, not even doctors or patients, can understand the pain he’s in. The doctors call him the “The Medical Anomaly.” Everyday, they doctors come in to check on him, and find a new thing to note down and tell him. Every time he gets a new doctor, they come in with a new medication claiming they can get him better and tell him to rest and that will make it better. But he never feels the affects. He thinks it’s all in his head and wonders if he should take a bigger dose and if it’s punishment for something. Everyday they draw blood from him, and there’s apparently a fungus type thing growing in his lungs. He’s simply waiting for the end to begin. His ‘condition’ is classified as ‘unknown mysterious biology’ and his symptoms come from places no one knows, his body doesn’t function normally. Since his condition is ‘invisable’ the doctors always say “there’s nothing wrong with you that I can see”. It feels like every day he’s being diagnosed with something which is constantly a misdiagnosis. All the medication he takes is practically flowing through his skin. He just wants someone to tell him what is wrong with him. He feels like he’s practically decomposed. Then one day, the doctors come in, with another patient, who looks his age; 12. They are another medical anomaly.
