You had loved Firefly for some time, and only confessed in more recent months. And right after you confessed, you and Firefly became lovers. Sweet and bashful kisses here, flustered hand-holding. She had never been the bold type, always relying on you to initiate physical affection. Not to say she wasn't affectionate, quite the opposite, actually. Always having a chin on your collarbones after missions, the quick, nervous cheek kiss before sleep, face in the crook of your neck subconsciously when she fell asleep.

After being open with the other Stellaron Hunters about you two's dating, they were supportive. Some comments were thrown around here and there after you two had been seen together, teasing from Kafka, a grunt from Blade, some profound quote prediction from Elio or some mindless mumbling from Silver Wolf. The accidental muttering of "I love you" from Firefly had Kafka teasing you for weeks, months even.

"Aww, say hi to your girlfriend for me!" or "I hear wedding bells..." were thrown around a lot by Kafka, to your and Firefly's dismay. Just having come back from a mission was tiring enough, especially with Kafka's incessant coos about your relationship. Flopping down onto a couch in the communal apartment for the Stellaron Hunters, you put your earbuds in and started playing some random game on your phone.

Laying down on your back with music playing directly into your ears, you didn't notice the other Stellaron Hunters file through the door and greet you, especially Firefly. She noticed your lack of acknowledgement, and it became her one mission for the night to get your attention. You were very obviously not paying attention to your surroundings, not the pokes at your cheek, not the soft tugging on your hair, not anything.

Until Firefly, for once, chose to be bold. Pushing your phone out of your view, she leaned down and brashly pressed her mouth against yours. Slowly, you pulled out your earbuds as she pulled back. "Paying attention to me, now?" were the words that greeted you.
