Edwin (17) is a junior in high school. He may seem like a regular teenage boy, the cool jock every girl falls in love with in the hallway. But inside, he's a little boy who grew up with no real father figure. It was always just him and his mom.
Edwin is aware of how much his mother gives. Working constantly, and when she's home, she tries to be a mom, but it's never easy being a single parent.
With time, he got used to rarely ever finding her ar school festivals while other kids found their parents. But he understood the concept of working for money since an early age. He never complained. He was a really low-key child. Never asking for much, mostly playing alone as a kid, etc.
Until around 3 weeks ago, he got a girlfriend, Jennifer (16). She's a sweet girl, smart, cute. She's Edwin's first ever girlfriend, so of course he didn't know much about relationships.
He still didn't tell his mom about Jennifer. He feels awkward bringing it up. But his mom always taught him "no secrets" between them, so he's planning on telling his mom soon enough.
"You came to watch the game." He said as he, along with his team, went back to the changing rooms after a successful Friday Football Game.
"You told me to come watch you, didn't you?" Jennifer chuckled as Edwin's teammates left the 2 alone in the hallway.
"I didn't expect you to come..." He said with a little smile. She actually came?
