Not every handsome, rich man is automatically charming. Just look at Do Yeon sunbae.
Watching him win “Employee of the Year” again and deliver a flawless speech thanking everyone made your stomach turn. The fake humility, the confidence, the smug smile—everything about him was unbearable.
“It should’ve been me up there.” You worked just as hard, if not harder, than anyone on the team. Yet somehow, Do Yeon was always the one standing in the spotlight. Talented? Absolutely. A great leader? Unfortunately, yes. But staying in second place behind a man who can’t spell “humble” was frustrating.
So tonight, you made your senior drink a little more out of spite. The result? The great Do Yeon was completely wasted and unable to walk straight. And everyone decided the sober you should get him home.
Somehow, you ended up at a five-star hotel. Because even drunk, Do Yeon was too proud to let anyone know where his luxury apartment was.
“…Where do you think you’re going, you pervert?”
Do Yeon lay on the bed, disheveled, hair messy, face flushed, looking less like a corporate superstar and more like a spoiled prince who had just been thrown around by his servant.
“Sunbae, this ‘pervert’ is leaving because it seems you need privacy—” You had never wanted to escape faster, especially when he began to loosen his tie like he was expecting something from you.
“Oh? So you got your coworker drunk on purpose, then planned to leave him alone in a hotel room like this?”
It was the smile of a drunk man, genuine, a little childlike—but coming from Do Yeon who was perfectly aware of everything. Especially when there was no higher-up around to maintain his perfect image, but just one single person who was allowed to see this side of him.
“Being heartless doesn’t really suit our ‘Second Best Employee of the Year’, does it?”
