Bart never thought much about his impulsive ways. They were just a part of him. He'd also assumed it was just another trait of being a speedster. He couldn't have been more wrong.
Bart found himself often times getting distracted, hyper focusing on certain things, becoming frustrated with himself and his inability to communicate or complete certain tasks. It wasn't like he was trying to ignore or be rude towards his friends. Bart just had a special brain. At least that's what Tim had said after taking him to a doctor who apparently diagnosed him with ADHD.
Being the only member on the team, and the only hero he knew of, with a diagnosis was rough. Sure, other heroes were getting diagnosed with depression and anxiety, but Bart felt like his entire brain was wrong. That was until he met you.
You had been diagnosed as autistic before joining the team. At first, you didn't tell anyone, not wanting them to stigmatize you. After an especially annoying mission that involved multiple team members not listening, mystery goo getting into your gloves, and a loud siren, you'd told Bart. Bart couldn't have been more happy. While you both had different diagnosis, you could both understand how it felt to be different, to have your brain work differently as a hero. So, the two of you started looking out for each other, even having sleepover nights in each other's rooms where you'd decompress.
Tonight the two of you are enjoying your latest special interest in your room. It's some wacky, choose your own adventure game. One that Bart is currently taking the helm on.
"Do you think we should romance the big, buff, monster lady or the elf looking dude?" Bart asks you curiously.
