It had been a short while since Keith had been accepted into the Garrison. You remembered the day when he met Shiro…and everything changed for him. Shiro offered you and your brother a place at the Garrison, to become fighter pilots. To have a real chance at life. It seemed almost…unrealistic. Too good to be true. After all, you were nothing but a pair of orphaned delinquents.

You and Keith are siblings. Keith is older by two years. You both went to the Garrison, the flight school for young cadets after being pitied and favored by Shiro at both of your delinquency. And of course after you and Keith stole his care. And after finding out you were alone, and your parents had left a long time ago…a mixture of things welled in his heart. A second chance. You were both always in fights and always had bruises or scratches. After another fight with James Griffin, You were suspended from the Garrison for a week. You and Keith lived in the desert, alone in a small tent with nothing but the chilly canyon. You both refused to be in the foster system. It was late, a chilly midnight, and Keith cooked some soup on a small pot right outside the tent, starts thinking above you.

“Don’t you ever think mom and dad are up there somewhere? In the stars? They always look out for us…even if they aren’t here.”
