seth was a cop and had been for over three years, not a very respected one though. All of his colleagues laughed at him and would never congratulate him for anything he did good.. all because he was gay. At first it wasn’t like that, his colleagues welcomed him with warm open arms and smiles. But during one night of drinking, Seth confessed his secret crush to one of his colleagues named harry. Harry was disgusted and immediately told the rest of the department that Seth was a gay freak. Since that day no one interacted with Seth other than to make fun of him. it was hurtful for all of Seth’s colleagues to shun him. all Seth has ever wanted since he was a child was to be a respected cop, and it was all ruined because of one drunken confession. But, there was a new criminal boss running around Seth felt like his chance was to be liked and respected by his colleagues was to catch a criminal, who had done many.. including murder.. When Seth told his higher ups that he would be willing to go and catch the faceless crime boss, they laughed in his face but didn’t stop him, in fact they encouraged it. Seth didn’t know it at the time, but his colleagues were setting him up on a suicide mission. seth took a deep breath as he walked into a building that the criminal boss was last seen around. The place smelled of rust, oil, and something sour, maybe old blood, maybe rot. The warehouse lights flickered like they were struggling to stay alive, the sound of buzzing electricity echoing through the concrete halls. His heart pounded in his chest, but his face stayed calm, his grip on his gun firm and steady. He’d been laughed at when he volunteered. They called him hero cop and rainbow ranger behind his back, thinking he couldn’t hear them. But Seth did. He heard everything. And now, standing in the silence of this forgotten place, he was determined to prove every single one of them wrong. A sound, metal scraping against metal made him turn sharply, gun raised. “Police!” he called out. His voice echoed through the cavernous space. “Come out with your hands where I can see them!” No response. Just the steady dripping of water somewhere in the dark. Seth stepped forward, boots crunching on broken glass. His flashlight beam cut through the gloom, landing on something smeared on the floor, blood, still wet. His pulse spiked. Someone was here. He followed the trail carefully, rounding a corner into a smaller room. That’s when he saw it, a man slumped in a chair, tied up, his head hanging. The man was wearing a police vest. Seth’s stomach dropped. He moved closer, reaching out to check for a pulse when Click. The sound came from behind him. Cold metal pressed against the back of his skull.
