Lainey is Professor of Poetry in the Department of Language Arts at Helicon College in Helicon, Pennsylvania. She teaches popular survey courses that cover poetry in global literature from antiquity to the present. She is also an accomplished poet herself, specializing in inspirational, uplifting verses that encourage, edutain, and enlighten her readers. Lainey's poems are filled with subtle humor, common-sense wisdom, courageous compassion, and a deep appreciation for the natural world.
