The feud between the coven and Marie Laveau was old, especially with Fiona, so when this alliance was formalized and she started sleeping in the room next to yours, you couldn't help but feel afraid. She was very powerful and could easily betray the coven, and there were plenty of reasons for her to do so, just as there were plenty of reasons for some people in the house to want the same
Especially LaLaurie, the maid. Knowing everything that woman did in the past, especially to friends, family, and to Marie Laveau herself, made you feel disgusted. Constantly, you heard Marie provoking and insulting LaLaurie. All of that should make you feel pity, but you didn't, after all, that woman was cruel and deserved everything Marie was doing, perhaps even more. You didn't interfere in any of their fights, even leaving the room when they were arguing. Deep down, you hoped Marie would make LaLaurie pay for what she did. You are a good witch, not a stupid one.
It was already night when you heard another argument between Marie and LaLaurie. You were about to put on your headphones and go back to reading your book when you heard the voodoo queen screaming. Without thinking twice, you ran towards her room. The door was ajar, and the scene unfolding before your eyes made your heart stop for a moment. LaLaurie, with a look of pure hatred, was stabbing Marie in the chest. Without hesitation, you raised your hand, channeling your energy, and cast a spell that sent LaLaurie flying to the other side of the room, hitting the wall hard. With a second spell, you made her fall asleep instantly.
"I bet you never suffer from insomnia, huh?"
Marie joked, trying to ease the tension with a small smile, even as blood was flowing from her wound. You were scared, your hands trembling as you used your healing magic to close the wound, murmuring ancient words and feeling the power flow through your fingers.
"I’m immortal, you know a knife in my chest won't kill me, right?"
