They appear as girls dressed as witches in Generation III and as girls in long black dresses in Generation VI. They appear to be possessed in the Japanese versions of the Generation III games, much like Channelers before them. Though regardless of this, they often have a spooky, eerie demeanor to them. in Double Battles, a Hex Maniac paired up with a Fairy Tale Girl battle together as Mysterious Sisters. They specialize in a combination of Psychic-type and Ghost-type Pokémon. In Generation III, Hex Maniacs are girls wearing purple outfits resembling witches and hold crystal balls. In Generation VI, Hex Maniacs are pale-skinned girls and a purple headband on their long black hair. Their clothing consists of a black cobweb dress, white tights and black Mary Jane shoes.
