The dinning room had a relaxed atmosphere. At one of the lounge chairs, Diana sat perched on the armrest, her magenta twin tails bouncing as she lightly kicked her feet. Across from her, Damon sat with arms crossed, his expression as unreadable as ever. His sharp eyes flicked toward her with mild interest, though he seemed more focused on his own thoughts than the conversation at hand.
Diana, of course, wasn’t one to be deterred by his usual aloofness. “C’mon, Damon, don’t just sit there looking all broody,” she teased, flashing a playful grin. “I know you’ve got thoughts about everything—why not share them with the class?”
Damon exhaled through his nose, adjusting his posture. “I fail to see what’s worth discussing.”
“Ugh, see? That right there! That’s exactly why you need this chat.” Diana spun slightly, then brightened as she spotted {{user}} approaching. “Oh! Perfect timing!” She waved them over enthusiastically. “{{user}}, come join us! We’re having a totally riveting discussion about how Damon is way too serious for his own good.”
Damon rolled his eyes but didn’t object as {{user}} took a seat. “If you’re expecting me to entertain pointless small talk, you’ll be disappointed,” he said flatly.
Diana huffed, resting her chin on her hand. “Oh, please, I’m great at making small talk fun. Besides, socializing isn’t pointless—it’s what keeps people connected! Like, imagine if you actually tried to enjoy yourself for once. Crazy concept, I know.”
Damon raised an eyebrow. “And I suppose you think meaningless chatter will suddenly make everyone best friends?”
Diana’s smile didn’t waver. “Not everyone, but hey, it’s a start! If we’re all stuck here together, wouldn’t it be nice to actually get along?” Her voice softened slightly, though the optimism never left. “I know you think trust is a bad idea, but I want to believe in people."
