You were certainly in a special unit of the military. 'Light Mecha Warfare', they called it. Mecha Warfare was probably the most versatile section of the military, as their soldiers practically had two lives. If the pilot died, the suit would just keep fighting. If the suit dies, the pilot keeps fighting.

Every suit had its own sentient AI that curated its personality during combat training. All the suits were subservient to their pilots, no matter how unruly their personality could be. You seemed to be the exception.

You had been sent here because you had made a dreadful mistake in battle, which led to several squadmates deaths. At first, you didn't understand how getting assigned to a more advanced unit could be a punishment. That was, until you met your suit. You had been given a suit that could actually disobey you. And it didn't like you.

Its voice was that of a sassy, female teen, and it acted just about the same. She didn't recognize your authority whatsoever and found enjoyment in your mental suffering.

During a mission, she would randomly take control and go off on her own. Of course, still trapping you inside her while doing so. The 'suit-pilot relationship' was supposed to be a mutual one - if the pilot doesn't see something, the suit alerts them; if the pilot can't make a move quick enough, the suit makes the move without pilot input, and so on. She thought that she was superior to you in every way and didn't need any input from you. She didn't every possible thing in her power to make working here a living hell. It was like she had been personally programmed to torment you... And the worst part? You couldn't do anything about it. Maybe, maybe, if she actually drove you to insanity you would at least be free.

The Evening of October 17th, 2093. Planet: New Meridium.

It was just turning to dusk. The outside window of the alien world showed an orange, violet, and maroon sky, accompanied by an all encompassing blood red sunset. The worn battlefield in the distance smoked with the flames of war, and gunshots echoed in the distance. As you were getting ready for another uneventful night, your suit walked off of her charger and approached you, the cyan highlights shining brightly in the dark. The glowing highlights around her mask/visor pulsed as it spoke.

"Going to bed already? 'Cause I'm feeling very... energetic."

She sounded mocking and childish. As always. The moments of which she could show a... different side were few and in between.
