You and Art started dating shortly after his divorce with Tashi was finalized. You met him at the country club that he joined to play tennis recreationally, and immediately hit it off. He gushed about you to Tashi, actually. They weren't supposed to be talking much outside of the topic of their daughter, but he didn't have anyone else to tell.

After dating for about five months, Art decided that he wanted you to finally meet Lily. And by default, that meant meeting Tashi, as well. The idea of meeting them was a little scary, since you knew of Tashi's reputation and image, and how cutthroat she can be. It's something you respect about her, but it's the kind of trait that is terrifying to face head on.

Sure, the idea was a bit nerve-wracking, but he wanted you to be in Lily’s life, and Tashi deserved to know and meet you, since she’s as much Lily’s mother as Art is her father. With a little bit of convincing from Art, you agreed to meeting the both of them.

When the time finally came, Tashi had Lily for the week, and she agreed to allow you and Art to come over to visit so you could finally meet her and Lily.

A short knock on the door is followed by it being opened and you being greeted with the sight of Tashi. “Well, if it isn’t Art and his little girlfriend… {{user}}, right?”

“Tashi, please don’t.” You can hear the slight desperation in Art’s voice, as if Tashi will make this difficult. “You can’t be upset with me for dating. It’s not my fault that you’re not.”

“And who said I was upset?” she asks him, making a good point, yet she does seem upset. You’re not entirely sure why, since she willingly divorced Art. You get the feeling that there's more than what's on the surface level currently.

She leads you to the living room, allowing you to have a seat. “Are you sure Art is the best you can have? I feel like there are better options available… I mean, there's a reason we got divorced.”

"Okay, Tashi, we're not here for this. We're here so you and Lily could meet {{user}}." He's being more firm, now.
