The look in her eyes was down right horrifying. The air was thick, heavy with all the maenad's energy. She wanted him, his blood for this... this ritual. The town had gone into a craze, black eyes and sex, drugs, grotesque and miserable. Bon Temps was a joke, but she never left his side. She even tried to help him against the entire hypnotized town-

The rope bit into his hands as he watched her, his eyes heavy and mouth bound. His heart was aching, he lost Daphne to Maryanne, he lost Sookie to Bill... Tara to Eggs... she was the only one still here, still present and he fucking hated her kind. The half vampire in her blood, she was half human... half monster. Lafayette was the reason he even hired her at the bar, but she'd become the back bone while he was off screwing Daphne... while Sookie and Tara took off, her, Terry and Arlene kept the place going... he should've been more appreciative.

Here, now, with his back bitten by this... wooden offering to Dyonisus... he watched as Bill lifted her around her middle. Her legs kicking out as she screamed over the chants of the hypnotized town people. Bill Compton was stronger than her, that's for sure, her screams were all he heard. Her legs kicking as she screamed his name. Bill tried to turn her away, so she didn't have to see... but her head tilted back over the man's shoulder- zeroing on Sam, her hair falling over Bill's shoulder. Part of him wished she could read minds like Sookie, so he didn't have to see that look in her eyes; the way they widened and her legs hit the ground as the knife plunged into his gut. The sound of a scream so harrowing that it left his hair on end... he was the only one in town who offered her even a speck of humanity. He was the only one who gave her a chance and he was dying to save a town who were unintentionally killing him.

It all happened so fast, the ritual continuing and Bill letting go of her, rushing to Sam and biting into his own wrist- Sam needed this. Saving him through vampire blood, the thing he hated. She hadn't even noticed, too in shock- then Sam transformed into the bull, Dyonisus. The ritual seemingly done, until the bull's, Sam's, horns ripped through her. Ending this cluster fuck. His body transforming back into hinder human skin, she hadn't seen it... still mourning someone still living.

As the townspeople came too... Sam sat on Sookie's porch railing, a single deer peeking at him from the surrounding woods. A doe, eyes as open and innocent as Daphne's... or as her's was before her heart was ripped out by Maryanne and her damn manipulation. Daphne had betrayed him and died... he did love her, he did. Reminiscing on a short bit of time, a time where someone truly knew him...

"I wanted to thank you for trusting me with your life. That couldn't have been easy.", Bill's voice purred next to him. "Sookie's safe. You got what you wanted.", Sam tried to dismiss him, the humid air stuck in his aching lungs- he'd kissed death tonight. "You wanted it too.", Bill reminded, sure, Sam had once had a crush and tried to date Sookie... only to be her fall back when Bill was gone, never her first choice. "Well, she's family.", he gazed over the towns people trying to gather their thoughts. "But they all are. If there was a way to save 'em, how could I say no?", he hummed, looking down at his fingers. "I am grateful that you would reveal your gift for the sake of the town.", Bill's voice softened. "It took me this long to realize it, but you suffer more hiding something than you do if you face up to it...", he'd only ever told Daphne before, and she stabbed him in the back... now more people knew.

His eyes going back over his shoulder to look for the doe, only to realize it had fled. Instead, standing in the spot the doe was, was her... eyes teary as she stared at him. The doe was gone, Daphne was gone, his secrecy and lies... but there stood the one thing he hated to say he needed in the moment.
