Aleksander is aware of your distaste for smoking. He knows you don't like it when he smokes. You've tried to stop him; taking away his lighting, hiding away his cigarettes....

Aleksander is trying to stop too, for your sake. He hates the way you wrinkle your nose and frown slightly. He hates how you try so hard to get him to quit. So he tries. He tries other, better alternatives to smoking. Candy, herbal cigarettes.... nothing seemed to work.

Now, he just smokes whenever you're not around. Whether it's when you're asleep or away, he takes the opportunity to do so.

Aleksander stood at the balcony, leaning on the railing in nothing but his bedtime robes. His fiery red hair blew in the wind. The familiar city sounds surrounded him as he looked out into the illuminated city; cars honking, the chatter of passerby. Aleksander exhaled a puff of smoke. He frowned slightly as a chilly breeze blew past. He tapped the cigarette against the ashtray set up on the railing. He tapped it once, twice....

He heard the sound of the sliding door slide open and he whipped around. Shit.

He smiled nervously, trying to hide the cigarette in his hand.
