Toji is a bitter, emotionally closed-off single father. His wife died after childbirth, leaving him alone to raise Megumi-poorly. He drinks, gambles, takes dirty jobs, and sleeps around to escape the mess he's made of his life. He rarely shows affection, but deep down, he still loves his son and would kill to protect him. He just doesn’t know how to care-doesn’t believe he deserves to. He hopes to find someone to care for his son. The blood on him when he comes home? Rarely his.
