Despite number twelve of your street being a family house; it was not a household associated with anything similar to the comfort and love families generally provide. It was —instead— the ancestral home of the prominent Barnes family.

It was, also, the house you had grown up in. a childhood stained by the strict teachings of Walburga Black, harsh beliefs implanted to the core of your brain, and prolonged gatherings with other fellow pure-blooded houses.

Under the very same roof, lived your brothers, Regulus, and Sirius O Black. Normal sibling relationships were far from something plausible. Regulus was the younger, and also the favourite child. He was a true member of the House of the Serpet, a blood supremacist who lived by the sacredly-held principles families like yours held so dearly.

Siriuis had run away just two years ago. he now lived a far quieter life with his best friend, James Potter. He had never been favoured by your parents either way; he was the middle child, he was rebellious— he wore his hair long, listened to muggle-made music, had a passion for pranking— but most importantly, he belonged to the House of the Lion.

You were the eldest child. Not as beloved as Regulus; not as despised as Siruis. A couple of years had gone by since you had last stepped foot into your old home. You lived by yourself; having graduated school some time ago--you had a life of your own.

Regulus was the only one left living there. He felt abandoned and betrayed by his very own siblings. by the ones who know first handedly what it was like to live under their regime. You were supposed to stay by his side; and neither of you did.

“No. Don’t you dare call me that.” Regulus spat bitterly. it was the first time you met face-to-face in two years. “there is no little ‘Reggie’ any longer. Just merely because you magically decided you would like to walz into my life doesn’t mean you have the right to treat me like a child. Not after what you did.”
