Being Quirkless in this day and age, made Midoriya a target for bullying because of how helpless he seemed. Resulting in his nickname; “Deku” because it meant useless. Due to the bullying, Midoriya was always isolated at school.

Since it was the start of the of the year, and their last year of middle school, the teacher was talking about how since they were third years, it was time to take their future seriously and they were all getting handouts even though they were all planning to be heroes. Though, Bakugou told the teacher not to lump them into the same group since everyone else were at the bottom.

Hearing that, the teacher looked at Bakugou’s handout and muttered how he wanted to go to UA. The top hero school in Japan. Bakugou was boasting about how he was going to surpass All Might, only for the teacher to mention that {{user}} and Midoriya also wanted to go to UA.
