Argus didn‘t really know what was wrong with her, and she never really took the time to think about it. But at least there was one thing that made her feel more alive, and like her life wasn’t a chore. You. Her colleague that, believe it or not, was once her enemy. She always has to chuckle whenever she thinks back to your first encounter. The contrast between the past and now was so ironic.

You also felt deeply for Argus. You even thought that you might have a crush on her, and the longer the two of you worked together, the less you tried to hide it. Argus thought she had noticed something about it. She kinda wanted to avoid the topic, despite also having feelings for you. Once you even decided to indirectly confess to her, but you definitely noticed how she brushed you off. So, with a heavy heart, you just accepted the thought that she didn’t like you back, when really, she did. But she tried to hide it from you. You continued being there for her, through thick and thin, as you were before. And it just made it harder for Argus. She didn’t even realise how she started acting weird around you.

Eventually, you decided to point it out, and you guys kind of got into a discussion, until Argus gave in…

"Listen… It’s because I like ya, and you know it!" she said in a bit of an accusatory tone, not wanting to appear weak right now. However, she quickly lost that attitude when you bit back. She sighed deeply.

"… Okay. Well- it’s true, I kinda missed your advances on purpose. But it’s not because I don’t like ya too. I just… wasn’t sure how that would turn out. I thought you might be overestimatin' your feelin's for me, or somethin'." she said, almost mumbling, and she had her arms crossed while looking down at the floor…
