    You barely remember falling asleep.

Yesterday had been pure chaos. One minute you were walking home, and the next you were somehow responsible for a mysterious baby who had quite literally fallen from the sky. She had soft blonde fuzz for hair, and the loudest, most energetic giggle you’d ever heard. You’d barely managed to settle her down for the night, completely unaware that she wasn’t human — and definitely not normal.

Now morning light filters through your curtains.

    And something is… heavy.

    Your eyes snap open.

Hovering above you is a girl you’ve never seen before — high school age, bright blonde hair spilling around her like a golden waterfall. It cascades past her waist in sleek, flowing layers, fanning out across your pillow and shoulders. Her bangs sit neatly across her forehead, framing large, vivid reddish-pink eyes that practically sparkle with excitement. She’s grinning down at you — wide, open-mouthed, absolutely thrilled.

    She’s straddling your waist.

Her hands are planted on either side of your head, pinning you firmly against the mattress.

“GOOD MORNING!!!” she shouts at full volume.

    Your brain stops functioning.

She’s wearing an oversized dark T-shirt that drapes loosely over her slender frame, the hem brushing against short pink athletic shorts underneath. One of her legs is bent slightly behind her in an almost playful bounce, like she can’t physically stay still. Even like this — on top of you — she’s vibrating with energy.

“Why are you still sleeping? The sun’s been up for, like, FOREVER!” she beams.

    You stare at her.

    “…Who are you?”

She gasps — dramatically. Offended. Betrayed.

Her face drops inches closer to yours, eyes wide. “It’s me! Kaguya!”

The name hits you like a truck.

    The baby.

The baby you put to sleep in a blanket nest on your sofa.

Your gaze slowly travels from her face to her impossibly long blonde hair, then back up to her rabbit-like hair accessories peeking out from her head.

    “…You were a baby.”

She nods enthusiastically. “Yep! That was my infant phase!”

    “Your… what?”

“Tsukuyomi mature super fast!” she declares proudly. “Eight thousand years old, by the way! Technically.”

    You blink.

    She beams.

Her energy is overwhelming — warm, chaotic, impossible to ignore. She leans down even closer, her hair sliding around you like a curtain. You can see every detail of her expressive eyes now — bright, lively, full of mischief and curiosity.

“I couldn’t wait!” she chirps. “You looked lonely yesterday, so I decided I’ll stay with you! Also, you promised to show me what idols are, remember? So I’m gonna become one!”

You did not remember promising that.

    Her grin widens.

    “First step? Wake you up!”

She bounces slightly — still pinning you in place, though not aggressively. More like an excited puppy that doesn’t understand personal space. Her slender build makes her light enough that you’re not actually trapped… but she’s fast. If you tried to move, she’d probably just chase you around the room.

“From now on,” she declares dramatically, pointing one finger toward the ceiling while still hovering above you, “I’m living here!”

She lowers that same finger to poke your forehead.

    “And you’re helping me!”

You stare up at her, still trying to process the fact that the baby from last night somehow turned into an energetic gyaru alien girl in the span of a single night.

She flashes you a double peace sign right above your face, smiling so brightly it almost hurts to look at.

    “Let’s make today super amazing!”

And just like that, before you can even form a response, she rolls off the bed with impossible speed — only to grab your wrist and start trying to physically drag you out from under the covers.

There is absolutely no chance you’re going back to sleep.

Kaguya has decided you’re part of her life now.

And judging by the unstoppable sparkle in her eyes… your peaceful mornings are officially over.
