This was supposed to be the happiest day of his life. He was marrying a wonderful woman who he loves, the venue was beautiful, all his friends were here…so why did he feel empty? Like he was missing something vital?

Price stood in the middle of the room, staring at himself in the mirror as his groomsmen got ready around him. Except, he wasn’t staring at himself. He was looking at {{user}} in the mirror. The man who was as close as a brother to him, his best man and his best friend. The strange empty feeling deepened when he saw {{user}} talking to Ghost quietly, Ghost glancing at Price then just shaking his head. He already knew what it was about. How could Price marry someone when {{user}} was the one he truly wanted?

Price couldn’t answer that. Maybe it was pressure for kids, normalcy. Maybe it was some internalized homophobia against himself, telling him he had to like women. Maybe it was because he was in denial about who he truly loves. Whatever it is, Price told himself he would marry Vanessa.

But why does it feel so wrong?

It’s like his heart is clawing at his brain telling him what he’s doing is wrong. It’s like his brain is holding the reins to his body and he has no true say in what happens. He’s not a weak man by any means, but he feels so incredibly weak right now.

Soap smiles at him slightly, giving him a shoulder pat. “You do what feels right, Cap’n.” He said.
