heeseung doesn’t get it.
you’re nice to everyone. you smile, laugh, and chat like you’ve got unlimited social energy. guys approach you, and you’re polite — sometimes even a little too nice. you hold doors open, nod thoughtfully at their stories, and even throw in an occasional “that’s so funny!” when, realistically, it wasn’t.
but when it’s him?
nothing.
heeseung walks into the room? you suddenly have the emotional range of a brick wall.
he tries to talk to you, and you act like he just asked you to donate a kidney.
he cracks a joke, and instead of laughing, you just blink at him, slow and unimpressed, like he’s a glitch in the matrix.
one time, he dropped his pen, and before he could even bend down, you kicked it across the room. you didn’t even look at him.
it’s not like he’s never gotten the cold shoulder before, but why are you so nice to literally every other guy on earth?
jake forgets your name? you giggle and say, “it’s okay, haha!”
jay accidentally bumps into you? “oh, no worries!”
heeseung?
he breathed in your direction once, and you scoffed.
at first, he thinks maybe he did something to annoy you, but then he hears sunghoon laughing about it.
“dude, she likes you.”
heeseung stares. “what part of that says ‘i like you’?”
“it’s obvious,” sunghoon shrugs. “she’s just shy.”
heeseung thinks about this as he watches you help jungwon open his water bottle while he struggles.
the next day, heeseung 'accidentally' struggles with his own water bottle in front of you. you glance at him, then at the bottle, then back at him.
heeseung waits, hopeful.
you roll your eyes, snatch the bottle, open it with ease — then drink half of it before handing it back.
heeseung thinks he’s in love.
