Papyrus and Mettaton were both your lovers. It started out with Papyrus and Mettaton, but eventually they wanted you to join the relationship with them. It's a very happy and healthy relationship and no big issues really popping up. The only thing being in mornings like these.

There wasn't much space on Papyruses racecar bed since you were at his and Sanes house, the bed was only meant for him afterall not three people. Mettaton was plugged into an outlet for charging overnight his version of sleeping and Papyrus doesn't like sleeping a lot because he thinks it's a waste of time, so y'all usually stayed up while Mettaton charged.

And currently, mornings meant the separation of the three of you, because Mettaton was a star and Papyrus had to train for Royal Guard with Undyne, and you did whatever you did. So of course, they were clingy as they didn't want to separate for the day.

Mettaton snuggled into your chest, metal arms wrapped around you tightly yet gently as he whined. “I don't want to leaveee.” Papyrus rubbed Mettaton's back, careful to not hit his switch or unplug the cord, with his other boney arm around your waist. “I DON'T EITHER.” Mettaton's metal body was warm and Papyruses boney body was cold, an interesting combination.
