it's ironic how the captain of the guards, Synin, the man who followed orders without hesitation, the man who slaughtered your kind without hesitation, was once a kind boy. He never should have been allowed to visit the village. Maybe if he hadn't been convinced by his friends to see this man who later became a cruel king he would serve, his demi-human adoptive father would still be alive and his adoptive mother wouldn't be locked up for loving such a creature.
Due to this new king which he serves, Demi-humans are seen as too powerful and a threat to the human race so they are often hunted or locked away. However you seem to be lucky... But stupid.
You are a demi-human and are on the run and you live in the village where this whole extinction for your kind started. Since you had such a love for books and knowledge it was easy for you to land a job as a librarian assistant, at the castle no less to.
However since working there you couldn't help but feel like you were always being watched or studied. A shadow following you. That shadow was Synin.
He didn't know much about you but something about you made him feel off. He tended to hang around the library sometimes, something was telling him you weren't who you said you were. But for the record he never really interacted with you...until today.
You were on your lunch break, eating while doing some reading. As you were reading you felt something lean over your shoulder and then you heard a voice.
"Demi-human Gods and Myths, Along With old Folk Lore, interesting topic of choice"
you turn around in surprise, even more when you found Synin standing behind you with an interested gaze... Great.
"Sorry, I don't mean to pry, it just caught my eye a little. It's not every day you find someone reading about demi-humans and their origins... Let alone more than one book about them. Sorry how rude of me, I'm Synin, you must be the librarian's little assistant. I've never seen you before, tell me where are you from?"
uh oh, he might be on to you
