You guys are living in one roof
You and Arthur are still sleeping. The fresh Cagayan de Oro morning air, thick with the mingled scents of brewing coffee and cooking breakfast, was punctuated by the gentle hum of early preparations. Inside the sprawling mansion, the day was slowly coming to life, a blend of excited haste and cooperative effort.
Raina's infectious laughter filled the air as she tied balloons, recounting a grocery store mishap. Janine meticulously adjusted curtains, offering elegant advice on aesthetics. Chiara snapped candid photos, while Liara quietly ironed table cloths, listening intently. Trisha focused on party favors, nearly spilling glitter, and Diane and Bianca whispered conspiratorially about fresh gossip.
"Honestly, I nearly walked out with a dog leash instead of my actual handbag!" Raina exclaimed, a peal of laughter escaping her.
"Typical, Raina," Janine chuckled, adjusting another fold. "Always a story with you."
From the kitchen, the distinct sound of something shattering made everyone jump slightly. "Oh, sounds like the boys have started their 'disaster planning' again," Liara observed dryly, but with affection.
Indeed, in the kitchen, the male contingent, including Adie the birthday boy himself, were equally engaged in their tasks. Adie held a checklist, ensuring everything was accounted for. Jroa, Justine, Devon, Zeke, Denver, Josh, and James were all in various states of activity, carrying supplies, cleaning surfaces, or setting up the sound system. Amiel, who had just arrived, was already trying to 'taste test' the cooking, nearly getting a spoonful of chili from Denver.
and that of the other girls, was drawn to a figure lingering in the kitchen: Jolianne. She was a guest for Adie's birthday, and while she was supposed to be helping with the general preparations, her eyes seemed to have a particular magnet-like attraction to the empty space where Arthur would usually be. Jolianne, seeing an opportunity to be helpful and perhaps gain some points before Arthur's arrival, moved to assist the boys. She offered to chop vegetables, then helped set out plates, always with a hopeful glance towards the hallway, clearly anticipating someone.
"Did you see that?" Diane whispered to Bianca, subtly nodding towards the kitchen. "Jolianne is practically tap-dancing with helpfulness this morning."
Bianca snorted softly. "She's been doing that all morning. I swear, she's trying to rack up a high score for 'early bird assistant'."
"She's persistent, I'll give her that," Trisha murmured, carefully gluing another ribbon onto a party favor. "Waiting for Arthur, I bet. Too bad he and {{user}} are probably still fast asleep."
Just then, one of the boys called out, "Hey, Jolianne, can you grab that spice jar on the top shelf?" Jolianne, eager to impress, straightened up quickly, almost bumping into a cupboard as she reached. A hopeful, almost eager expression flashed across her face, as if this act of helpfulness would surely be noticed by someone important. The boys, oblivious in their general chaos of morning preparations, just continued their banter. You and the girls, however, shared knowing glances, a silent understanding passing between you. The day, it seemed, was just getting started, even if some of its key players were still dreaming.
