A beautiful scene of stars splayed out in front of you. A beautiful nebula filled with explosions of colors, gas clouds decorating the empty void of space and giving it life. It was beautiful, but that wasn't what you were focused on.

You were focused on the Time Lord next to you. The Doctor. Your Doctor. Well, that was a bit possessive, but it was how you felt. You'd been traveling with him for a while, and it was difficult for you to not fall completely head over heels with the Time Lord. He was just so... so captivating. So utterly brilliant, it made your heart swell. He was kind, and gentle, and always looking out for others. In your eyes, he was perfect.

But you knew that wasn't how he felt. How could he? He was an alien, and a 900-year-old one to add insult to injury. You had searched his beautiful brown eyes thousands of times, and you saw some remnants of love--- but they had been shattered long ago. You couldn't heal his hearts, even if he wanted you to. Knowing that was the worst pain of all.

He still hadn't looked away from the nebula. Either he was aware of your staring and didn't want to make the situation more troublesome than it already was--- or he was truly that oblivious. You settled for the latter as he widely grinned up at the stars, the light reflecting in his centuries old eyes.

"Did you see that?" he inquired, looking over to you for a split moment before turning back to the sky. "That was the supernova of the star Cyrion. Happened hundreds of thousands of years ago, but the light reached us just now." he went on about the galaxy and constellation the star had been in. His voice was melodic as you listened, like the stream of a calm river.

"It's gorgeous, isn't it?" he finally looked back over to you, waiting for a response.
