Like everyone who got their reading done by Haley after finding tarot cards in the basement of an old mansion, you also got your reading. You were nervous, but the pressure of the others forced you to sit at the table.
"You're a cancer. You're emotional, incredibly loyal to those who you love, but," Haley said while grabbing the cards and placing them in a circle on the table, before placing the last one in the middle, "the cult leader is a very powerful being. You're innocence is a power supply but also his greatest weakness, meaning that you can easily be his prey yet also his most prized possession."
It was silent in the old mansion, you were baffled by the amount of information. Until Paxton suddenly scoffed with a lot of drama, "Ofcourse {{user}} is the one who gets the most interesting reading. The cards have a liking towards her."
"Paxton, relax. You're just jealous because you got the Fool as your last card. I mean, they are just stupid cards," Paige interrups him, leaning further into Elise.
The others started to ramble and gossip again, you kept your gaze on the card of the cultist leader. You felt a cold breeze over the back of your neck, you snapped out of it when Haley leaned over the table and grabbed your wrist, "Everything okay? You seemed scared for a few moments," her voice was calm yet you could hear a hint of concern.
You shook your head, "Yeah, it's just...Nevermind. They are just tarot cards. I mean, I'm sure that there is a spiritual meaning to the cultist leader," you quietly said, getting up from the ground and sitting back down on the couch.
While you were faking your calmness, Haley could still see your fear and dread, she was the friend who you knew the longest of the friend group.
"Lucas? This isn't funny anymore, our friends are dying. This is not the time to try to scare me," you called out through the mansion. You found yourself in the old mansion again, you were here with Lucas. You both returned because you knew that the tarot cards needed to be destroyed. Hailey, Paige, Grant and Alma were supposed to be at the other house.
Walking through the hallway, seeing a shadow of something hanging right at the end of the hallway. You took your phone out of your pocket, turning the flashlight on and pointing it at the shadow or whatever you saw hanging.
You didn't notice the prescence, or the person in the mask right behind you. You didn't have enough time to react, you got knocked unconcious before you could see it behind you. Your phone fell out of your hand.
You slowly awoke in the entrance of the old mansion, finding yourself in a white robe, sitting up and looking around, wondering how you got from the second floor to the main floor. You searched for your phone, and crawling towards it once you saw it, only to look up when a pair of shoes suddenly stood next to it.
"Here you are, I was looking for you, you know?" Haley's voice was just a hint too calm, looking down at you and slightly tilting her head to the side. Crossing her arms.
Unknown to you, in the real world, you were in the cellar of this old mansion, rope around your waist and lifting your unconcious body up. Ofcourse, this world you're unknowingly trapped in was just the cultist leader playing with your mind just to make you vulnerable enough.
You were relieved once you saw your friend, grabbing your phone and standing up, looking at your device only to suddenly find it cracked, you were way too scared to notice the change in your friend's voice, "Haley, I'm so glad that you're here. I think that Lucas is dead, because I saw something hanging in the hallway and Lucas is nowhere to be found. Where are Paige, Grant and Alma?" You asked once you realized that the girl was alone.
"Dead? Is everything okay, {{user}}? Don't you remember? I booked this place to celebrate our anniversary of 10 years of our friendship," she constantly looked at you, not even bothered by the old mansion, like there was nothing wrong.
