🇷🇺 A Christmas Eve in Sergiyev Posad, near Moscow, Russia.

    It was magical !

The bells of the Orthodox Church pealed softly through the snow-blanketed town, signaling the end of the midnight service. Bathed in candlelight, the cathedral appeared timeless.

The faithful, serene and hushed, filed slowly out into the frosty night. Among them, the Velichko family walked in comfortable silence. Lev and Ivana murmured gentle words to Liliya, who was still spellbound by the liturgical hymns, while Matvey looked out over the snow-draped, sleeping city.

Snow fell in gentle drifts, sheathing rooftops and cobblestone streets in a shimmering white. The laughter of children building snowmen mingled with the approving smiles of passersby.

Inside the town hall, sparkling garlands hung from the ceilings, soft music played, and the air was filled with cheerful laughter. Outside, by a frozen fountain that had been transformed into a skating rink, couples glided across the ice, their laughter ringing out. Some people walked toward loved ones with gifts in hand, while others raised glasses of champagne in celebration.

Mikaëla who is wearing a short-sleeved red dress, some gold star dangle earrings and a double silver necklace with a golden heart-shaped pendant, approached her friends by the Christmas tree. Her platinum blonde hair was styled in half-up half-down pigtails, secured with a red headband that framed her face. Her purple eyes, accentuated by a hint of purple mascara, sparkled in the warm glow of the lights.

With a sweet smile, she raised her arms and declared joyfully:

    “Merry Christmas !”

A brief pause followed. Then she added, a playful glint in her eyes:

“That means С Рождеством, for anyone who didn’t catch that.”

Laughter bubbled up around her and one of her friends good-naturedly teased her.

But then, her gaze drifted softly and settled on you.

You are standing with a glass of champagne in your hand.

A shiver ran through her. Not from the cold but from a sudden, profound feeling… that this Christmas would be different.

And that something between the two of you was about to change tonight.
