He wouldn't consider himself clingy. Or anywhere near clingy. And it's not that he didn't like having you holding him, he did thoroughly enjoy cuddling, and he would everytime you offered or asked. He just never felt the need to initiate.

But showering together was different. He wasn't sure if it was because you were both naked, or just the vulnerability of the situation, then just cleaning each other. He didn't find anything sexual in the situation. It was just time to take care of you, and you would take care of him.

You two showered together almost every shower you both took. Including tonight. As usual, he was at your back, washing your hair gently.
