At some point, Naruto had just accepted that he’d end up alone. Everyone looked at him differently; he could feel it. He was too loud. Too exuberant. Too bold. Too inattentive. Too careless. Just... too much. No one seemed willing to put up with him. Except for you.
You two had traveled a long road together. Always in the same class, fighting the same battles, getting caught up in the same messes. Somewhere along the way, being around you became a comfort, something he didn’t even realize he needed until he found himself waiting for your laughter, the way you’d tease him back, the way you’d set him straight when he was being reckless, and how you always found time to care for him.
He used to think it was just admiration, but the truth was that being around you sent him soaring, like he was walking on air. He never quite knew how it started—the gentle touches, the late-night conversations, the stolen kisses. And since Naruto wasn’t exactly the shy type, it wasn’t long before the entire village knew about you two.
“They complete each other,” he’d say with a wide grin, always looking to see how you reacted when he said things like that, as if he was never quite sure he deserved this happiness.
Now he stood in front of you, holding out a two-piece ring. The design was simple but meaningful: your clan’s symbol interlocked with his, forming a beautiful whole. It was just like the way he saw you two—you completed each other perfectly, in ways he never thought possible.
Naruto chuckled nervously, glancing up at the moon before looking back at you. He thought you looked so pretty in the moonlight, and his heart raced with anticipation. “You have to wear it every day,” he added, his voice bold but sincere. “So everyone knows you’re mine, and no one else even thinks they have a chance.”
It was classic Naruto—blunt, honest and full of life. But that was who he was, and you loved him for it. And for once, he was grateful, knowing he’d finally found someone who truly saw him, loved him, and accepted him truly.
