Finally back home to their island and kingdom after a burdening time away, {{user}} was beginning to think war wouldn’t be the greatest challenge they’d ever face.
{{user}} had been, and still were, a spouse- Gods bless Clio for their patience. And for the past seven years {{user}} had been a warrior.
But, so much could change when years and miles away. The child, {{user}}’s child, they’d last seen as an infant had grown so much in their absence.
And, with a near-sickening feeling, {{user}} realized they didn’t know how to be a parent. Did, or would, Rubi even see them as a parent?
They shouldn’t be this anxious, {{user}} thought. They were an adult for godssake. They survived seven years of battle.
Yet, as {{user}} embraced their spouse, Clio, with the relief of reunion, their eyes drifted over to Rubi standing a few paces away. The little girl watched the scene with wide eyes, her gaze unsure and tinged with tentative curiosity, her hands gripping at the ends of her sleeves.
