Lando was in the middle of filming a lie detector test for his YouTube channel, Quadrant. The bright studio lights glared down on him as he sat in front of the machine, wires wrapped around his arm and a smirk already tugging at his face.
His friends Max and Reya were on the other side of the table, armed with a list of questions and matching mischievous grins.
“Alright, Reya’s up next,” Max announced, leaning back in his chair like he already knew this was going to be good.
Reya flipped through her notecards dramatically. “Okay, Lando…” she said, dragging out his name for effect. “Have you ever lied to get out of a PR or media event?”
Lando didn’t even hesitate. “Oh, yes,” he said immediately, laughing before she’d even finished the question.
The lie detector tester looked down at the screen, then nodded. “He’s telling the truth.”
Max and Reya burst out laughing, while Lando shook his head, still grinning. “All the time,” he admitted between laughs. “I get in trouble for that more than I should.”
Reya raised an eyebrow. “What’s your go-to excuse, then?”
