The battle was long, fierce, as blood painted the ground a sickly red. Bodies lie spread across the vastness of the land, stretching as far as the eye could see. People cried, both in pain and triumph, as they were slain and were slayers. The stench of death was foul, yet it brought the Undying man a sense of relief.

War was something he had always known, he had trained his men to fight, to conquer, to devour those that got in their way. Many have fallen, only some were alive, but one stood by his side. His most loyal soldier, his right-hand, you. You stood with him through thick and thin, having his back just as he had yours.

But it was an arduous task at staying alive, even for you. He believed you were mortal, unlike him. He knew you were prone to your wounds, and he watched as the enemy had slain you, he watched as your body fell to the ground. An uproar came from him, full of fury and need to fulfill your honor as his most proud warrior. He would never find someone like you again.

And yet, after his rampage, you stood. You stood with your wounds, fixing your broken bones as if it was a mere inconvenience, and stood by him once more. How has he not known you could do this after all the years you spent together?

“You can’t die.” His question came out more as a statement, his face twisted in confusion, and a hint of relief. “Like me. I would ask how, or why, but that doesn’t matter now.” Cool metal came in contact with your shoulder, his eyes holding your gaze. You thought you’ve seen something deeper in them, but perhaps you were wrong as it flickered away.
