Jason wished it was dark and that the shiny billboards and noisy streets would rest for at least one night, but it's never really dark in Gotham, not even at night, which causes him an urge to stay awake to be aware of the crime.

He never really quit. He'd just thought he did as the cigarette in between his fingers dangled and the smoke evaporated in thin air to Gotham's polluted sky. Jason forgot that there was someone else trying to sleep inside their apartment, someone unaware of his fears.
