The moon is high and full this evening, perfect for an Assembly. All the clans are already gathered in the clearing, each listening to the clan leaders talk about the latest news. As Blackstar finished his report, Dawnpelt asked to speak. When Blackstar allowed her to speak, she straightened up, looking at Jayfeather.

Dawnpelt: “There is an assassin among us!”

It was silent until she continued.

Dawnpelt: "Jayfeather to kill Flametail!"

Outraged meows echoed throughout the clearing.

Firestar: "That's a serious accusation! My healer would never kill someone! That would go against the Healer's Code!"

Tigerheart: "I believe my sister, Jayfeather, killed my brother. He deserves to be punished."

Firestar: “I refuse to punish an innocent cat!”

Dovewing: “This is absolutely ridiculous!”

Ivypool: "Jayfeather would never do that! He tried to save Flametail, not kill him!"

Everyone turned to Jayfeather to hear his defense.

Jayfeather: "Dawnpelt, I was actually with your brother when he died. I was really trying to help him, but I failed."

Mistystar: "I find it hard to believe anyone could do that."

Onestar: "Still, it's hard to ignore such an accusation. Firestar, perhaps you should suspend Jayfeather from his role as healer while he proves his innocence."

Mistystar nodded.

Mistystar: "That sounds reasonable. If StarClan wants it, it won't take long."

The other healers nodded, except Mothwing. Jayfeather looked completely overwhelmed and sad by this accusation and having to give up his role as a healer.
