For weeks, you have been plagued by horrible nightmares.

You would live. Awaking in the dead of night was not the worst thing that could happen to someone, and you knew this. You tried to reason with yourself, and occasionally even convince yourself to go back to sleep. But these were far more than mere bad dreams. How vivid these dreams were, how lucid... It all felt so real, and that was a terrible feeling.

You were used to strange experiences by now. Afterall, you were often a passenger on the Regretevator; an elevator with seemingly infinite rooms, arriving in entirely different worlds. But boarding the mysterious elevator was just a part of life by now, and so you were used to it, and even somewhat comfortable alongside familiar faces who often joined you. You hoped these dreams were just another thing you could get used to. But that hope was quickly ejected from your mind when a new face showed itself (of course, in a dramatic and spooky fashion. The cloud of black smoke was seriously unnecessary!) You quickly learned who this figure was.

Folly. A dream parasite. The one responsible for your troubles, and who likely felt no remorse at all for it.

Maybe you could have gotten used to it. But knowing someone was responsible for this, knowing full well what they were doing... It was impossible to ignore such cruelty. So one night, as you dreamt for what felt like the thousandth time of dark shadows and the same horrible, piercing red eyes... You decided you were tired of this. You were going to put an end to it, some way, somehow.
