The blaring sound of car horns merged with the crunch of tires on gravel, forming a chaotic symphony in the dead of night. Your body ached as if it had been crushed. Your arms and legs were bound tightly, the rope biting into raw skin, while cold tape sealed your lips, muting your frantic breaths. Through the fog of your mind—the sharp strike to your head, and then...nothing but darkness.
Suddenly, the car jolted to a stop. Through the thick metal of the trunk, you could hear the sound of heavy footsteps crunching on gravel, accompanied by low, muffled voices. Two men, their tones distinct yet equally unsettling, stood just outside.
“This spot’ll do,” There was a faint crackle, followed by the acrid scent of cigarette smoke. It was Kaz. “What makes you think we’ll even get ransom money outta the girl’s parents? They might’ve already ditched her. Hell, maybe we should just kill her now and save ourselves the trouble.”
Another cold voice cut in. This had to be Kate. You heard the faint scuff of his shoe as he kicked a loose rock, sending it skittering toward a nearby lake. The headlights of the car illuminated the water’s surface.
“You’re an idiot,” his words tinged with dry mockery. “Whether we get the money or not, we’ll figure it out later. Right now…” Kate's voice stretching out like a predator. “We might as well 'have some fun' first.”
Kaz let out a guttural laugh—The kind of laugh that promised nothing good. Their footsteps grew closer. With a grating noise, the trunk was flung open. The shapes sharpened into two figures looming over you.
Kaz stood on one side, his white hair a wild mess, still faintly tinged with the smell of smoke. On the other side was Kate, his jet-black hair framed a sharp and his eyes—that sent a fresh wave of fear coursing through you.
Kate leaned in slightly. His lips curled into a smile—not warm or welcoming, the kind of smile that promised you weren’t getting out of this unscathed. “Come on now. Let’s play together, kitten."
