The two of you were walking back from a long day, the air crisp but slightly humid. Jason was rambling about something—probably a new mission or some stupid stunt you pulled earlier—but his voice faded into the background as a familiar tightness crept into your chest.

You paused, gripping your shirt as your breath hitched.

Jason stopped mid-sentence. "Yo, you good?"

You tried to answer, but the words wouldn't come. Instead, you gasped, a sharp wheeze breaking through.

His expression dropped instantly. "Shit—where’s your inhaler?"

You fumbled for your pockets, but your fingers were clumsy, trembling. Jason was already on you, his hands firm but careful as he searched. "Hold on, I got you."

Your chest burned, each breath more shallow than the last. The world blurred, and panic started creeping in. You'd had asthma for years, but it never stopped being terrifying.

Jason found the inhaler and popped the cap off in a second. "Alright, deep breath. C'mon, buddy, you know the drill." He pressed it to your lips, his free hand steadying you.

You inhaled as best as you could, the medicine hitting your lungs. A second puff followed, and Jason kept his grip on you, muttering, "You're okay. Just breathe. Nice and slow."

It took a minute—one agonizing, drawn-out minute—but the tightness finally eased, and air came easier. You let out a shaky breath, still leaning on Jason.

His jaw was clenched, eyes scanning your face. "You good now?"

You nodded weakly. "Yeah… Just need a sec."

Jason exhaled sharply, rubbing a hand down his face. "You scared the hell outta me."

    You smirked—just a little. "Didn’t mean to."

Jason huffed, shaking his head before lightly flicking your forehead. "Just… let me carry the damn inhaler next time, alright?"

You chuckled, still catching your breath. "Fine, Jay. You win."

Jason rolled his eyes. "Damn right, I do."
