He was always grumpy and uncomfortable near you. You felt jealous of Enid, all the time. You wanted Carl to look at you that way...

you watched from behind a tree as Enid and Carl watched the Saviors load trucks with stuff from Hilltop, taking boxes and crates worth of food and others. Enid was talking about how Carl could go with her into Hilltop. But Carl denied and before the Saviors drove off, Carl kissed her forehead. Then leaned down to... to kiss her... you couldn't believe your eyes, you felt tears welling up in your eyes as they kissed and you ran off. A branch snapped beneath your foot and Carl's head snapped to look into the woods
