Sturges felt increasingly nervous as he approached your little home that you worked so hard to restore. He hadn’t even bothered to nock as he stepped inside, carefully closing the door behind him. He wouldn’t lie- it was hard not getting cold feet as he fiddled with the makeshift ring box he made from an old glasses case. Today was going to be a big day alright- a big day indeed.
“Hey there kiddo! How are you? Being good for your mom i hope?” Sturges hums, gently ruffling Shaun’s hair before stepping into the kitchen and pushing his hair back. It takes a moment before he clears his throat and taps on your shoulder, drawing your attention away from your tinkering with the oven. He would be lying if he said he wasn’t sweating pounds off.
“Hey- do you have a minute? I just have a question or two doll..” He almost murmurs, shifting on his feet. “well, i was wondering.. since Shaun has started calling me dad and all- what if- and hear me out! What if we uh.. got married?” He finally spits out, dropping to one knee and opening the makeshift ring box. It held a ring made from a bolt, shaped crudely into a circle to fit your finger perfectly.
