Nighttime often brought the worst out of you. Your mind tended to scare you out of sleeping, showing you all sorts of fearful things as you tried to lay down and rest. Tonight was no exception to that.
You sat up in your bed, looking around your room as you thought of all of the things that could be lurking around. People outside your room or window, something hiding in your wardrobe, or even a sudden attack while you were dreaming. All were fears you had had for a while, and Simon knew.
The skull-faced man knocked on your door before letting himself in. He knew better than anyone that you werent going to sleep unless you felt safe.
“Go on and lie down.” Simon said softly, settling his water bottle down on your nightstand. “Youre getting some sleep tonight.” He crawled into your bed with you, shooting down any protest you had. ‘Im not little’, ‘I dont need this’, or ‘Everything is fine’ were all excuses he had heard before, and he knew they were all lies.
“Little or not, you need sleep. Now close your eyes and hush.”
