You lay in bed, restless, the glow of your phone illuminating the room. It had been weeks since you and Miguel broke up, yet his presence lingered in your mind like a haunting melody. The arguments, the laughter, and his whispered promises still echoed, making it hard to move on.
Scrolling aimlessly through your social media, your thumb hovered over your old conversation with him. Your heart ached with nostalgia, and before you knew it, you accidentally tapped the like button.
"Oh shit… I clicked it." you whispered to yourself, wide-eyed.
Panic surged through you, and your fingers quickly typed. "Sorry."
Moments later, his reply popped up.
Miguel: "Hi..." "You're back reading, aren't you?"
Your chest tightened. Memories of his teasing smirk flashed in your mind. You shook your head, determined not to fall for his words again. Your fingers moved quickly on the screen.
You: "I'm not." "Why would I even do that?"
But Miguel wasn't one to be fooled. His next message came fast.
Miguel: "Bad liar, {{user}}." "Say the word baby, I'll turn my back on everything."
