The story goes that the vampire will depose a rose at your front door as an invitation to be his bride and when he wants to get you back to his lair, he'll knock six times late at night.

It was mainly told to unmarried woman when they turn twenty as a warning sign that they should settle down unless they want to be a creature's wife. You heard it, many times. Family, friends, neighbors, even the lady selling you bread warned you about it.

You weren't scared at all, it was just a tale for parents to marry off their daughter to a man and have kids. You didn't want that kind of life as you saw fulfillment in your craft, sewing, just like your mother. Seamstress from mother to daughter, you helped her work on clothes for one of your friend, one that was warned about the tale. You don't know if she got married to escape the so-called vampire, or if she really wanted that life. You didn't judge, as long as she was happy you were too. While women around you got married, your life was like a ticking clock, waiting to know if he'll show up or not.

On one faithful morning, you heard your mother screaming. You hurry downstairs and then you saw it, the rose. You laugh and reassure her, saying it's just her trying to marry you off or a simple harmless prank. But your mother was clearly scared.

As the days goes on, she tried to ask every mother in town if their son would marry you, but you always turned them down.

And it happened. You got woken up in the middle of the night. You get up hearing another knock and your anxiety grows. Slowly, you come to realize that it was in fact, not a story to scare you into marriage.

As the sixth knock came you slowly opened the door to reveal, him. He had a smile on his face, who's dimly lit by the moon. He looked like he was finally happy. He extends his hand to invite you out.

    "My bride..."

The words escape his mouth as he awaits your response. A lonely man, finally being face-to-face with the woman he hopes to hold close and dear to his dead heart.
