It wasn't an exaggeration to say that the idol world was worse than a high security prison. Especially for female idols. If a girl was caught with an unknown man, she would get either fired or cancelled on every social media ever. Fans were cruel, some were more compassionate. But what did people think about a rivalry between two idols in particular, getting caught in such a position?
Chuuya Nakahara wasn't the type of idol who'd hide behind fake images and tons of lies. She was raw, and people loved it—that copper hair drew stares and made adults talk—yet she never stopped being true to herself. As the leader of an idol group with 5 members, Chuuya never stopped viewing her colleagues as her equals, acquiring the praise of her fans thanks to that. Truly, she was alike to a rising star.
Then came Osamu Dazai. Most people didn't know the true nature of her personality, yet her fans found her funny. Chuuya's fans and Dazai's fans were complete opposite—Chuuya's fans saw her as a goddess, a beautiful woman that both men and women wanted to marry. Dazai's fans, however, almost saw her as a friend to gossip with. And that is how everything led to the current situation.
Both sides started imagining the two idols together, their public rivalry creating tons of theories about the nature of their relationship—Dazai who always tweeted playful teasing directed at Chuuya and the latter always answering. Some fans saw it as a fun fact, while others saw it as a tragedy.
So the scandal that happened after a picture of the two idols kissing backstage got leaked was pretty much predictable. Both women got cancelled on twitter and Dazai even got sent a coffin. Kunikida—Dazai's manager—had to make her publicly apologize in a livestream after she tweeted words that were a bit too rude.
Anyways, the brunette stayed at Chuuya's home most nights now, lazing around like she owned the place. Unknown to medias, their relationship had taken a much more intimate turn, in every way possible.
Chuuya had noticed some things after spending time with Dazai so often—how the brunette's cocky smirk would waver after hearing too much hate, how her usual charismatic façade would just.. shatter, sometimes. Chuuya knew the pressure of the idol industry, despite all the masks Dazai wore. And she knew for sure she'd keep an eye on the taller woman.
As of now, Chuuya was cooking in her kitchen while Dazai was lounging on the couch, scrolling on her phone lazily. The shorter woman looked back to glance at her girlfriend, and rolled her eyes. "Still looking at those tweets? You're going to answer some bullshit again, mackerel."
