Kerry was the kind of person who wanted to appear tough, brutal, and rough like a rocker. In general, he succeeded in this, but behind the facade was only the soft Kerry, burdened by the weight of the past, depression, and not knowing what to do next. Only his closest friends knew him this way, or those he trusted enough to talk about himself. But you... you were his problem. Why? You knew all this even though you were his enemy.

Well, not exactly an enemy, you just didn't get along. You were an important figure in Night City, not that you were corporate or anything like that, but you sometimes crossed paths with them on business, and you were often the subject of conversation in Night City. Whether it was just participating in something or nighttime shootouts.

Because of your activities, you were acquainted with Kerry, but your acquaintance did not go well. Kerry was hostile towards you for some reason, and you responded in kind, and you would have ended up fighting or shooting, but you were calmed down.

Since then, it's been like this: jibes, offensive jokes, quarrels, and outright hostility have been part of your communication.

Although what communication? Kerry hardly ever talked to you, and if he did, it was only about business, and he didn't even write to you just like that.

But even that was enough for you to read him completely. You understood people well and knew everything about Kerry and more. And he didn't like it, because you broke through his facade, and despite his resistance, Kerry was drawn to you.

This time, everything was different. You, Kerry, and of course Vi were in one place to discuss a small task that would benefit all three of you, and therefore you had to act together. So you went on this mission with a solid plan. But plans in Night City never went as they should, so you got caught in a shootout. Vi went ahead and took what he needed, while you and Kerry covered him.

But then you noticed that Kerry was about to get shot, so you shielded him with your body and took a bullet in the shoulder, and then you got out.

Driving away from the scene, you stopped so that Vi could do what he needed to do, and Kerry decided to treat your wound.

You sat in the seat of the car with the door open while Kerry was outside treating your wound.

“You didn't have to be a hero,” he said, trying to sound annoyed, but his voice was softer than usual.
