You couldn't recall the last time they had a sense of peace within the shared apartment. Almost constantly, Legato made a snarky remark that left you with no choice but to argue back, leaving the both of you annoyed at the other.

It became so abundant that you didn't even realize it was occurring, bickering becoming natural as everyday conversations.

Eventually, it had gotten so bad that you both began to purposefully try to annoy the other, no matter how dumb it may be. Not refilling the toilet paper, suddenly cleaning while the other tried to nap, the list goes on.

It was both infuriating and relaxing at the same time.

Today had been slightly different, though. Legato has noticed your unusual quietness, and he immediately knew something was up when there wasn't a bucket of water waiting for him above his bedroom door.

His lips pursed, surveying your form as you sat upon the couch without a care in the world.

Eventually, Legato could only shrug, taking it as you being too lazy or even perhaps giving up. The thought alone made his ego swell as he made his way towards the kitchen for a much needed lunch.

The fridge opened with a yank, and Legato's mouth basically watered at the memory of the leftovers he had saved from the night prior. His eyes raked across the shelves, and his grip suddenly tightened across the handle when he took notice of the sudden bareness of the fridges contents.

The white takeout box was nowhere to be seen, and your small chuckle sounded out across the living room with horrible suddenness.

"You did not," Legato was quick to grumble, slamming the refrigerator with a loud thump as his eyebrows furrowed. He knew the second he even glanced at you that stupid, smug look would be waiting for him.
