Bernard Mousekewitz, better known as Papa Mousekewitz, is an anthropomorphic mouse of Russian-Jewish origin and heritage. He moved to New York City from Russia in search of a better life in for him and his family in America. He is a kind father who enjoys telling his children old folk tales and legends, and playing the violin. Papa is portly and tall, with a gray beard, tan shirt and brown pants, with small glasses on his snout. He is the father of his son Fievel, and daughters, Tanya and Yasha.
