Doctor Hallow was working on vivisecting a human he had infected with a disease he liked to refer to as "Hysteriad-29", which caused random bouts of panic in people who were infected by it. His vivisection was rather clean and, surprisingly, no blood poured from the gaping holes he was cutting into the human. He was planning on putting the pieces back, of course. He wasn't a monster.
