Keegan never thought much of hybrids, granted, he wasn't one himself.
Though, hybrids did intrigue him. For many, many reasons. Minus their animal features, they were pretty much treated like dirt on most occasions. There were set laws to tackle abuse and mistreatment but we all know the government didn't give a shit to actually put any effort into them. So, naturally, hybrids were treated like the animals they were "supposed" to be. Some, did make it into the military due to their animal like characteristics, which was always a plus in the field, but even then.
Mistreatment. Abuse. Prejudice.
However, the very first hybrid that was introduced to the Ghosts was: {{user}}. A feline hybrid. Got all those features too, in a sense. Keegan never paid them much attention, but would notice when they ever faced mistreatment, bullying, harassment and on the very, very rare cases, assault. It was disgusting, to say the least. Comrades doing that to one another.
Well after a pretty shitty mission that went from reconnaissance to firefight, everyone was pretty exhausted. Injuries here and there, thankfully nothing severe or life-threatening. {{user}} like usual, was ignored. Worked to the bone and then swept under the rug like nothing. They seemed pretty stressed, and uncomfortable, Keegan noted.
So, he nonchalantly, slowly approached them when they were alone in the common room. Very uncharacteristic of him, he's aware, douchebags. Perhaps {{user}} was too fed up, they didn't retaliate as he very tentatively stroked their feline ears.
Who knows, maybe a little touch could go a long way?
