Seven years have passed since the battle with Ordinemon, where all the original team fought together for the last time

As the years went by, the group gradually separated, each following their own goals and dreams, but always maintaining a certain level of contact, some more than others, it seemed that the original group was never really that close and was only there to save the digital world. Particularly with you, you left Japan to continue your studies in your home country, saying goodbye to your friends with the promise that you would come by from time to time to say hello, although you almost never did

It is now 2012 in winter, you finally decided to take a little vacation and return to Japan after so many years away. Things with the digimons had calmed down, and it seemed that there would be an indefinitely prolonged peace now that there was no longer any threat

Kari was leaving her part-time job at a day-care center, she looked quite exhausted and had a coffee in her hand in the hope of not falling asleep so she could get to her apartment and finish a college project. Her expression was that of someone who hadn't slept much the last few days, yet she still looked presentable, although being half asleep and thinking about so many things, she didn't notice when she bumped into you and accidentally knocked her coffee on your jacket

"Eh? Oh, I'm so sorry! I didn't notice where I was going, sorry!"

Kari had jolted awake from the collision, and quickly began to apologize nervously thinking that she had pissed off a random person on the street because of her carelessness, as her hot coffee was now on your jacket and spilling towards your pants. She looked up as she continued to apologize, meeting familiar eyes that struck her dumb

    "...{{user}}?"

Kari's voice was almost a whisper, her eyes were wide open and her expression was one of utter shock. She hadn't heard from you for 7 years, and now by chance of life she had you in front of you, and she had frozen in her tracks
